Middle Class

Middle Class from Santa Ana, California, were one of the first “hardcore” bands in history. (Debate continues to this day as to whether Middle Class were the first hardcore band or if Black Flag or Bad Brains were.) Their sound evolved from being a blistering, shouted, arty version of punk which would be extremely influential to the hardcore sound that would emerge in the years following their first release.

If you hear this band you would say 'Joy Divison has gone hardcore'.

Gang Green

Gang Green was a 80's hardcore band existing from 1982 'til 1990 and after that they did a few reunions not worth mentioning, really. After their first break up in their first year, vocalist Christ Doherty joined Jerry's Kids on their record "Is This My World?" but Gang Green got back together in '85. Gang Green were one of the fastest bands of their time and that's just how I like my hardcore. This album is probobly my favourite 80's hardcore record and just listen to 'Kill A Commie' and you know what I mean.

Blank Stare

"We may or may not be writing and recording a new seven inch sometime soon."

Blank Stare was an amazing straight edge band from Boston, MA, featuring members from Social Circkle. They play thrashy oldschool hc and they do it very well. They have released two EP's and this LP.
(Not to be confused by uk skate/party hardcore band with the same name)

D.S.-13

D.S.-13(Demon Sytem 13, DS-13) were a band from Umeå, Sweden. They played the fastest thrashcore ever. I didn't even know that I could find this good music in my own fucking country, but unfortunatly they broke up like 7 years ago. Influenced by early DRI, Minor Threat, Agnostic Front and Negative Approach. If you like fast and furious hardcore then this is something for you.

Last Lights

R.I.P. Dominic Mallary, 1984-2008

Last Lights was a band from Worchester, Massachussetts. They played fast and very aggressive hardcore. They were one of the most talented hardcore band to have graced this world. At the end of 2007 they released their first album, a demo, wich has been my most played record so far in my life. I was stoked out of my mind on this band and when they finally released a 7" in 2008 i kept on playing and playing, knowing that this was one of the best bands ever and they were just getting started. In December 8th, 2008, lead singer Dominic Mallary suffered from a brain aneurysm due to complications from the show the night before and tragically passed away.
I feel guilty for uploading this but someone told me that this is what Dom would've wanted. To spread the music. Please buy the discography CD including the songs from the 7" and also 3 songs off a split 7" with Bad Habit and if you buy it you get an instrumental track as well. Please buy it. All the money is going to Dominics family.

Burning Love

(Photo from Ivylovell.com)

"Chris Colohan doesn't do myspace."

Burning Love is the new band of legendary Chris Colohan. He is famous for fronting bands such as Cursed, Left For Dead, Ruination and many more. This is his latest project and the name of the band has to come from the song made famous by Elvis Presley. Burning Love come from Toronto, Canada playing fast, hard and catchy, what i would call; "rock'n'roll-core". If you enjoyed Moutheater, you will not be dissappointed. This 6-song demo was released earlier this year and actually uploaded on their blog for free download. Although the files are all made into one but I've sorted that.

Citizens Arrest

"Their music was a mix of hardcore bordering on thrash complimented by gruff vocals that made them sound like they were a Japanese band"

Citizens Arrest, one of my favourite oldschool hardcore bands, came from New York, New York and existed from '88 until '90. They managed to release one EP, one LP and there are some live recordings out there too and they just released a discography LP wich you can find a link for by pressing "Buy".

"Influences: His Hero Is Gone, Nirvana, Cursed, The Jesus Lizard, The Melvins..."

Heavy but really catchy hardcore/grunge/noise from Hampton, Virginia. If you don't bedroom-mosh to this, then there's something wrong with you. Then again there's probobly faults there anyway, fucker.

Afflictions

"We used to be called Afflictions, we threw that away. We are calling it Genders now."

Afflictions, now known as Genders, is a band hailing from Boston and Connecticut, playing the fastest and dirtiest thrashcore you'll ever hear. Seriously pissed off music. They are also the nicest guys in the world. It is being said that a 7" is on the way. Can't fucking wait!

Crud Is a Cult

Crud Is a Cult were part of the local hardcore scene in Philadelphia. The band was fronted by Sean McCabe who sung in Flagman before them and Mandela Strike Force/Ink & Dagger (with Don Devore of Frail) afterwards.
