Holier Than Thou?

Holier Than Thou? formed in May of 1999. This band is influenced by a lot of old bands, especially '80s hardcore/metal and '70s Rock which you can hear back in their music. Like their myspace page says 'Black Sabbath on 45 speed'. Anyhow, this band is trash to the core. Enjoy.

Koro

Koro was a hardcore punk band from Knoxville, Tennessee that formed in 1983 and called it a day in 1984. They quickly became one of the fastest, tightest, meanest hardcore bands on the planet. The band might have been forgotten if not for a remarkable self-released 8 song 7” (700 club EP), recorded in 1983.

Terminal Youth

They were an amazing fastcore/thrashcore band from Ipswich, MA wich sounds just like something that would come out of YA! and since I and most of the people lurking this shitty ass blog are fans of said label, I thought I'd post it for your satisfaction. You'll dig it.

Info on the bands on their splits:

(Hostile Takeover was a trashcore band from San Jose, CA.

9 Shocks Terror

Do you ever make up a dance and stomp your feet and punch an old pillow?
Or do you have a loud song that you can sing when you're angry?
Here's some loud music which just sounds like it's saying; " I'm angry. I'm very, very angry."

Iron Lung/Walls/Pig Heart Transplant

This, first and foremost, is NOT a split. Recorded live at The Vera Project in Seattle on Halloween night 2008, this was a one-time performance by all three bands collaborating as one super band. Six members in total. The sounds recorded this day were deranged, devastating and truly scary. New arrangements of three IRON LUNG songs, three WALLS songs and two PHT noise pieces. On top of that, they wrote two brand new songs and threw in a cover just to spice things up. Twenty nine minutes worth of total noise and depression sound. Absolutely crushing.

Regulations

So it seems that most of the good hardcore and punk bands in Sweden come from Norrland (northern parts). This is an awesome oldschool hardcore punk band from Umeå, Sweden. Even though they look and sound like they are an 80's band, they are not. They have existed from the early 00's and they still do to this day. They are about to release their second LP soon. Features members from E.T.A. and The Vicious.

Social Circkle is a band from Boston, MA playing oldschool hardcore/punk. They are fast, catchy, pissed off and still fun. They have released one demo, two ep's and now an LP and this is, hands down, probobly the record of the year. They play a lot faster than they have done previously and it is just better in overall.
I also saw them live last week and it was the sickest show I've been to in a while. They are currently touring Europe so don't miss out on that. You can find info about the tour HERE.

Nazti Skinz

Nazti Skinz’ brilliant concept consisted of four talented and well known personalities who only wanted to play five shows, write six songs, and release 500 copies of a crummy looking record. This, they thought, would safely undercut the probability of ultimately sucking as most bands do. As a result, they cashed all their chips in here and recorded the most brilliant single nobody’s ever heard.

Middle Class

Middle Class from Santa Ana, California, were one of the first “hardcore” bands in history. (Debate continues to this day as to whether Middle Class were the first hardcore band or if Black Flag or Bad Brains were.) Their sound evolved from being a blistering, shouted, arty version of punk which would be extremely influential to the hardcore sound that would emerge in the years following their first release.

If you hear this band you would say 'Joy Divison has gone hardcore'.

Last Lights

R.I.P. Dominic Mallary, 1984-2008

Last Lights was a band from Worchester, Massachussetts. They played fast and very aggressive hardcore. They were one of the most talented hardcore band to have graced this world. At the end of 2007 they released their first album, a demo, wich has been my most played record so far in my life. I was stoked out of my mind on this band and when they finally released a 7" in 2008 i kept on playing and playing, knowing that this was one of the best bands ever and they were just getting started. In December 8th, 2008, lead singer Dominic Mallary suffered from a brain aneurysm due to complications from the show the night before and tragically passed away.
I feel guilty for uploading this but someone told me that this is what Dom would've wanted. To spread the music. Please buy the discography CD including the songs from the 7" and also 3 songs off a split 7" with Bad Habit and if you buy it you get an instrumental track as well. Please buy it. Burning Love is the new band of legendary Chris Colohan. He is famous for fronting bands such as Cursed, Left For Dead, Ruination and many more. This is his latest project and the name of the band has to come from the song made famous by Elvis Presley. Burning Love come from Toronto, Canada playing fast, hard and catchy, what i would call; "rock'n'roll-core". If you enjoyed Moutheater, you will not be dissappointed.
