Bad Advice

Bad Advice is an upcoming old school hardcore punk band from Richmond, VA. Features members of Government Warning and Direct Control. Doesn't look like there will be any more releases from this band though. It's a damn shame.

I was informed that there WILL be another release. It should be out this or next month, apparently. Keep your eyes open at vinylconflict.com

Nuclear Cult

Nuclear Cult is a brilliant crust/d-beat influenced fastcore band from Berlin, Germany. Features members of Pink Flamingos, Y and Solid Decline. Active since 2010? Finally an awesome hardcore band in Europe, it's been a while.

Lotus Fucker

Lotus Fucker is a chaotic noise punk/hardcore punk band from Washington, DC. Really fucking harsh and chaoitic with high pitched barbed wire vocals. I heard they have insane live shows. They've been active since 2008.

Pigeon Religion

Pigeon Religion is a noise punk band from Phoenix, Arizona. They started out with their very disturbing noise punk/garage punk/lo-fi/psychadelic/drugfrenzycore in 2008 and sadly enough called it quits 2010. Trippy shit, but awesome.

Rational Animals

Rational Animals is a hardcore punk band from Rochester, NY. They play catchy and brilliant 80's hardcore since they formed in 2006. They have since released 2 EP's which I haven't been able to stop playing and then this year they put out their debut LP and the band has progressed into a noise-rock direction and I can't complain at all. My 2nd favourite hardcore band right now after The Men. Buy their shit while you can.

Birth Deformities

Birth Deformities is one of the best bands I've heard in a long, long time. Fast, catchy, raw and pissed off but fun 80's style hardcore punk. Get this fucking shit now. Members of Cülo. Get this if you enjoy hardcore or punk at all. I've been wanting to post this for ages now but haven't gotten around to it for some reason. Demo of the year. YOU'RE DEFORMED.

The Men

The Men are a nasty noise punk/hardcore punk band from Brooklyn, NY. I'm in love with this band. Catchiest and coolest bass-driven hardcore songs with a noisy and dirty garage punk layer. Very original and on their later records they tend to experiment a lot with shoegaze and noise. Leave Home is, hands down, the record of the year. Dig in.

Suburbanite

We were all sad when Aerosols and Wasteland called it quits but the vocalist (Chris) is back, this time relocated to NYC, with new band Suburbanite. They play catchy, rough and pissed off old style hardcore. Definately one of the best releases of 2011.

If you want to buy this record, too fucking bad. It sold out immediately and I have yet to locate any sites where you can purchase it. You could try to buy it from some dickheads on ebay though.

Divorce Money

Noise Punk/Hardcore band from New York City, NY. Dirtiest, catchiest hardcore ever. On their demo they kind of sound like Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld or Pigeon Religion/Jesus Lizard if you may. Weird shit. The EP is a lot tighter and the vocals are gnarly as fuck. The song "Use Your Imagination" is some of the best fucking hardcore I have ever heard. Perfection.

Pulling Teeth - Funerary (+ rest of discography)

Pulling Teeth is a metallic hardcore band from Baltimore, Maryland. Those of you who don't know this band yet should truly be ashamed. You've been missing out badly. They are definately one of the best among the more well known hardcore bands to come out of the 00's. Reminds me a lot of Left For Dead with more metal to it.

This band keep progressing and I barely recognized them on the Delusions/Illusions album. On Funerary they keep progressing and I'd say they mix their earlier in the face sound with the newer melodic, atmospheric Sabbath sound. There are even a few songs with clean vocals which I have a bit of a hard time getting into. Otherwise this is great and I love the song Grudgeholder, especially, which was also featured on the split with Shin To Shin.

Here's their BRAND NEW album "Funerary" and everything else they released so far.

EAT. SLEEP. WORK. DIE.

We Are the Doctors

We Are The Doctors are a punk / violence band from the Netherlands. Started in 2010 and recorded their first EP in DIY style on march 2011. Their song 'hartaanval' (heartattack) falls down your throat to kick and scream in your stomach. Fucking awesome. Keep an eye on these guys!

Unmen

I came across Unmen ages ago and it's time to post these motherfuckers now. This insanely awesome band is hailing from New Jersey, US. And all I can say is that if I hear their music I want to go on the streets and stab people randomly and break infants necks. If you want to make your parents or roommates go to a mental institution put Unmen on loudest volume and leave the room. Success guaranteed.

Res Gestae

Res Gestae is/was a brilliant band from Bogotá, Colombia. They play(ed) a murderous mix of thrashcore/powerviolence/grindcore and I would like to call them emoviolence as well.

I have no idea wether they are still around or not, but I doubt it. I'm pretty sure that this is everything they recorded, except for their first demo which I haven't been able to get a hold of.

Hoax

So 2010 was a slow and rough year for this blog. My co-poster Kitt was absent and I didn't feel like posting anything throughout the whole year. Anyway, this year will be different. I have a bunch of bands that I want to post for you and I will post AT LEAST one band per month. That's a promise. Seems like a little, but it's a lot compared to last year. Quality > quantity. Oh, and
Kitt is back too.

Hai, Kitteh. YOU ARE BACK.

Hoax is a new band from Western Massachussetts who doesn't really bring anything new to the table. Nothing original here, but it still sounds amazing. This is real dirty mid-tempo hardcore filled of angst and drugs. They consist of members from brilliant bands such as Aerosols and SQRM. They only have one release so far, which is their demo recorded by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios who previously recorded bands like Das Oath, Orchid, Aerosols, Mind Eraser, Ampere, Jeromes Dream, Wasteland and MANY many more.
